About the Facilitator

Shaikh Naseem is the Founder and Director of Madinah Academy in Sydney, Australia. His passion for teaching and educating the Ummah lead him to travel to various countries to conduct unique programs. Shaikh Naseem was born in Fiji where he completed his early education, soon after he completed high school he was blessed with a scholarship to study in the world's prestigious Islamic University of Madinah, where he completed his Diploma in Arabic language and Islamic Sciences and graduated from the Islamic University of Madinah with a BAin Islamic law. Shaikh Naseem has taught at numerous schools across Australia, Fiji, and delivered talks in Australia, Fiji, Malaysia, New Zealand and the Maldives. His unique style of keeping youth engaged in his programs lead us and empowered the community through educational talks, workshops and recreational programs. Shaikh Naseem has a passion in the fields of Education, Tarbiyah, Community, Youth and Charity work.

What is The Sujood Workshop?

Sujood is a two-day program for kids to learn the etiquettes of Salaah. Designed and delivered using various fun games and activities. Sujood incorporates modern interactive learning methods and techniques to make the program interesting for kids. The aim of this program is to instil love for Salaah so that prayer will become part of their daily life and keep them connected to Allah. Participants will have an exposure to a variety of learning materials and activities (presentations, workbook and various games). Sujood is an event to create life lasting memories and a unique learning experience.

What is taught in this workshop?

Sujood Workshop is a comprehensive two-day workshop where participants will learn and experience different aspects of Salah. Our aim is to teach Salah using Quran and authentic Hadith, in order for the kids to master Salaah to reflect the saying of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wassalam “Pray as you have seen me pray” [Bukhari]

Who are the people behind this workshop?

Sujood is a brainchild of Shaikh Abu Muhammad Naseem (Australia) and Peace Foundation (Maldives). Sujood was initially launched in the Island of Vilimale, Maldives, in 2017. The second event was held in Fuvahmulah and Male City of Maldives. During Shaikh Naseem’s second visit to Maldives, members of Peace Foundation proposed the idea of launching the Sujood program globally in order to teach Salaah. Peace Foundation’s creative and energetic team, with the guidance and support of Shaikh Naseem, we embarked on this journey to make this a reality.

What are the approches to facilitating this workshop?

“Think, laugh and sweat! Yes, that may sound a bit strange, but how else can we keep the kids awake?” Shaikh Naseem will share his decade of teaching and coaching experience with children and youth into delivering this program, with indoor and outdoor interactive learning activities blended with fun prize-winning games that will keep the young minds awake and alert throughout the entire program. Each participant will be given a Sujood activity book containing reading materials and fun exercises to test their understanding.
